He completed his undergraduate studies in International Relations in 2003 and earned his master's degree in 2005. In 2012, he defended his doctoral dissertation "The Politics of Securitization in Turkey, 1923–2003" at Sakarya University. During his PhD, he spent one year as a visiting researcher at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. His articles have been published in various academic journals and yearbooks, including Turkish Studies, Bilgi Dergisi, Akademik İncelemeler Dergisi, Ortadoğu Yıllığı, and Türk Dış Politikası Yıllığı, among others. His research interests include security politics in Turkey, democratization, Islamism, democratization in the Middle East, and the Syrian conflict. He teaches in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Sakarya University. He works at the Political Studies Department of SETA Istanbul.
